Care guide
The finishes on your piece are meant to give a high level of protection with proper care. A little restraint at the sink and in the sun keeps the work looking as it did the day it left the studio.
Cleaning
Generally a soft damp cloth followed by a dry cloth is enough. If a cleaner is required, use only a very mild soap and wipe dry. To disinfect epoxy resin surfaces, use only 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol with a soft cloth.
Protect the finish
- Limit direct sunlight. Over-exposure will cause any finish to fade over time.
- Excessive waxing can cause a beverage glass to leave a white, milky ring.
- Do not use cleaners containing bleach.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners — they will scratch the finish.
- Do not allow ammonia to contact the finish. It can discolor certain species and yellow a painted coat.
- Excessive smoke will yellow the finish.
- Dyes and inks may discolor the surface.
- Conversion varnish is a very hard, mar-resistant clear coat, but rough objects moving on the surface will still scratch it.
